Historic Oakland Mansion, Columbia Maryland Wedding: Janeen and Ashley

Janeen and Ashley has their wedding at the historic Oakland Mansion in Columbia, Maryland.

What will you remember most about your wedding day?
Funny! We actually share the same favorite moment…when we first saw each other as we walked down the aisle. Janeen is a jeans and sneakers girl and stressed that she was wearing pants which of course was what I expected. But when I finally saw her she was in a full length gown!! My jaws dropped and tears fell. She was so lovely and then she lifted her dress a tad and revealed matching white Timberland boots. That’s my baby.

Most stressful thing about planning your wedding?
Money! Of course! Why aren’t we as rich as we are happy????

Most enjoyable thing about planning your wedding?
Janeen loved the story of us I wrote in the voice of Sophia from Golden Girls for our wedding page. I adore that show and the story came out really cute!!

If you were able to do it all over again, would you do anything differently?
Elope to Hawaii!! Lol. We loved our wedding but honestly yeah…Hawaii.

Any words of wisdom for brides who are currently planning their day?
Do what you want not what others expect of you on your big day. Even if that means marrying the same gender lol.

Morningside Inn, Frederick Maryland Wedding: Haley & Jeremiah

“Jeremiah and I met when we were 13 years old, in middle school. We were good friends throughout high school and began dating our senior year. Three years later, we went to New York City for my 20th birthday, where he proposed on a carriage ride through Central Park! It was like a fairytale. Jeremiah is my best friend. When it came to picking our venue, we remembered having a high school banquet at Morningside Inn and how beautiful it was. It was the first and only venue we checked out! Morningside Inn was the perfect location for a rustic feel, and had everything we wanted. We hardly had to lift a finger, which made the whole process a lot smoother…perfect for our day!” ~ Haley

Baltimore Engagement Photo Session: Veronika and Logan

Veronika and Logan are so sweet. I’m talking, melt your heart sweet. I’ve had the pleasure of photographing several of their family members who are friends of previous clients over the years and everyone I’ve met in their circle has been just as wonderful. I really can’t wait to photograph their wedding this summer!

Their engagement session was at Cromwell Valley Park in Baltimore, Maryland. When we arrived at the park, to get them comfortable in front of the camera, I asked them to go out in a field and have Logan give Veronika a piggy pack ride. It helped them forget that I was there and really focus on each other and have fun! I was so happy that they chose one of my favorite images from the session as their save the date!

Union Mills Maryland Engagement Session: Jenilyn and Michael

Michael and Jenilyn have been planning their wedding for more than a year. The site of their wedding ceremony, Union Mills, is very important to them, so naturally, they wanted to take their engagement photos there as well. This historic mill in Westminster, MD is perfect for this gorgeous couple. With plenty of natural beauty and rustic charm, it’s the perfect place for their outdoor wedding ceremony, which will be held in the beautiful garden.

I love to do pre-wedding walk-throughs with my clients at their venue. Michael and Jenilyn and I had a great time exploring, and as we went I helped them visualize some of the best vantage points on the grounds, as well as talking through the plan and timeline for their wedding day so we can take maximum advantage of this gorgeous location on their wedding day.

What will you remember most about your wedding day?
Us being surrounded by friends and family as we joined our lives together.

Most stressful thing about planning your wedding?
Seating chart & invite list dues to the size of our wedding.

Most enjoyable thing about planning your wedding?
The creative parts selecting flowers, designing the invitations, creating the feel of the reception. Vendor selection, we were very careful when selecting vendors. We interviewed each vendor to ensure they were of like mind and shared our vision of our wedding day.

If you were able to do it all over again, would you do anything differently?
Not at all!

Any words of wisdom for grooms who are currently planning their day?
Keep is simple, be true to how you are as a couple and don’t let outside voices tell you what you day should or should not be. Think out side the box, weddings do not have to conform to any standard, and make it fun and something you and your guest will remember for years to come!
