When I began this project, Health Dialog had a library of 14 different
video products. The package (box) for each video was a unique 2-color
design (black and a PMS color) which was very expensive to produce
in the low quantities they needed. In addition, each package also
contained several insert components which had to be produced seperately.
By
designing a 1-color generic box that incorporated the information
contained on the inserts and could be used for all of their video
titles, Health Dialog could produce their packaging in larger quanities
and take advantage of volume discounts which saved thousands of
dollars each year in production costs. A spine cut-out on the video
box also enabled them to retain the unique color coding of each
video. [enlarge]
